The EPFlux magnetic clamping plate has no remanence (residual magnetism) upon deactivation. Highly alloyed and hardened workpieces can be easily loosened from the magnetic clamping plate. Highest grinding precision is achieved, because the plate is not heated up. Not heated up means that there are no expansion and deformation to the workpieces to be processed.

The electropermanent magnetic clamping plate is the ideal clamping plate for precision grinding machines. The laminated surface made of brass and steel and the solid steel body guarantee magnetic holding force as well as unique hardness over the entire surface.

With the EPFlux magnetic clamping plate, large and small workpieces can be evenly clamped. The magnetizing and demagnetizing occurs through a short power pulse within seconds.

  • Low construction height with very high holding force
  • Processing of hardened and highly alloyed workpieces
  • Absolutely no residual magnetism
  • No heating of magnetic clamping plate
  • Holding force 100 N/cm²

The permanent magnet system is moved inside when it is switched on and off, e.g. by operating a lever. It consists of a pole plate and a magnet body. When switched off, the pole plate is not exactly congruent with the magnet body, which leads to a magnetic short circuit (Figure 1). When switched on, the pole plate is congruent with the magnet body and the magnetic circuit can only be closed via the workpiece (see Figure 2).

Features:

  • Permanent magnets work without electricity, are mobile and reliable.
  • The size and adhesive force of a magnet system are limited by the internal mechanical friction.
  • A permanent magnet can be demagnetized by strong external magnetic fields or a temperature of more than 80°C.
  • Minimizing setup times by quick and easy clamping
  • Increased tool life by low-vibration clamping
  • 5-sided machining

All Assfalg electro-permanent magnetic chucks are equipped with a maximum of poles in the relationship to the size of the chuck.

If you review a price comparison, it is important for you, to analyze the clamping force of the chuck, because not the size of the chuck is important for the clamping force but the numbers of the poles are crucial for the clamping force of the magnetic chuck. It can mean that you will have bigger price differences by the same size of the magnetic chucks.

Do you have any questions? We will be happy to advise you individually.

You have already informed yourself about magnetic clamping, but for you are the advantages of the different Electropermanent Square Pole Chucks not yet understandable? Before you decide for a Electropermanent Magnetic Chuck, represented on the market, please ask you the following questions:

  • Which chuck is for your individual application advantageous?
  • Which special technical characteristics have the different electropermanent magnetic chucks?
  • Which material do you work?
  • Which thickness have your work pieces and how big are they?
  • How often is the processing of workpieces?

The electropermanent magnetic chuck from Assfalg Magnaslot is ideally suited for clamping of small and big work pieces for milling operations. Pole extensions, easily fixed on the surface of the magnetic chucks, guaranted a clamping without distortion even for uneven work pieces. The full steel body, patented and only available by Assfalg-magnets, offers an ideal protection against external influences like hot chips and coolant. If you work very big work pieces, you will get optionally a 4 channel controller, making a simultaneous switching of max. 4 magnetic chucks.
