The SMA 30 series is available in an electrical or compressed-air operated design.

The machine is designed for handling steel, aluminum, copper and plastics. A chamfer width of up to 8 mm is possible in NE-metals and a chamfer width of up to 6 mm in steel. In addition to this, a radius processing of 1.2 mm to 6 mm is feasible. The stunning and patented 8 or 16 cutting turning plate system guarantees long service life, best surface qualities and efficient working. The electrical design of the SMA 30 is equipped with a speed control and should be preferably used for stainless steel processing.

The cutter heads are available for chamfer angles 30°, 45° and 60°. The processing of drill holes is already possible starting at a diameter of > 28 mm. For tight contours, long holes and bores, a single-cutting cutter head with a fitting guide roller is available, Ø 10 mm to Ø 20 mm depending on application.

Weld seam preparation refers to the measures and work steps that are taken before the actual welding process in order to create optimum conditions for a high-quality and stable welded joint.

To improve the weld quality: to ensure a strong, non-porous connection.
Facilitating the welding process: better accessibility and processing of the seam.
Avoidance of defects: reduction of tension, cracks or inclusions in the seam.

Cleaning the welding surfaces: Removal of dirt, oil, rust, scale or other contaminants that could affect weld quality.
Chamfering the edges of the workpiece: Machining the edges to produce the correct seam type (e.g. V, X or K seam). This improves the penetration of the weld and increases stability.
Edge rounding or bevelling: For example, by milling, grinding or machine chamfering to obtain the desired seam geometry.
Selection of the right seam type: Depending on the material, material thickness and application.
Positioning of the workpieces: Ensuring that the parts are precisely aligned and fixed to ensure a consistent welded joint.

Weld seam preparation is an essential step to ensure the longevity, stability and aesthetics of the welded joint.

Edge rounding is part of the deburring process and removes sharp edges. This is necessary to ensure safety during handling.

Metal edges are rounded by milling or chamfering with special edge milling machines or deburring machines. This involves the targeted removal of material to create an even radius edge.
